Privacy Policy
Effective September 10, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information the CTRL+ALT+HAPPINESS store collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. The store is operated by CTRL+ALT+Press, LLC ("CTRL+ALT+Press," "we," "us," or "our"), an independent press based in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
1. Information we collect
- Information you give us. If you join our launch list, we collect the email address you provide. If you place an order, the information needed to fulfill it — such as your name, email, shipping address, and order details — is collected and processed by our payment provider (see below).
- Information collected automatically. Like most websites, we may receive standard technical information from your browser (such as device and browser type and general location inferred from your IP address). Your shopping cart is stored locally in your own browser and is not transmitted to us until you check out.
2. How we use information
We use the information we collect to send you the free chapter and launch updates you requested, to process and fulfill orders, to respond to your questions, and to operate, secure, and improve the store. We do not sell your personal information.
3. Payment processing
Payments are processed by Stripe. When you check out, your payment and order details are handled directly by Stripe under its own privacy policy. We do not receive or store your full payment card number.
4. Email and the launch list
Our launch list and newsletter are managed by Beehiiv. When you subscribe, your email is stored and processed by Beehiiv on our behalf under its privacy policy. Every email we send includes a way to unsubscribe, and you may opt out at any time.
5. Cookies and local storage
We use your browser's local storage to remember the contents of your cart between visits on the same device. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. You can clear this data at any time through your browser settings.
6. Sharing
We share information only with the service providers that help us run the store (such as Stripe, Beehiiv, and our hosting provider), and only as needed to provide the service. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, users, or the public.
7. Data retention
We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide the service, fulfill orders, comply with our legal and accounting obligations, and resolve disputes. You may ask us to delete information we hold about you, subject to those obligations.
8. Your choices and rights
You may unsubscribe from our emails at any time, and you may contact us to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws.
9. Children's privacy
The store is intended for adults purchasing books and related materials. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date above. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
